Why Outdoor Enthusiasts Should Move to Victoria BC

I’ve been a Victoria resident my whole life. To say I love this place is an understatement. I always try to spread the word of how amazing this place is.

As a real estate agent I focus on finding clients out of town looking to buy a homes for sale in Victoria. Hopefully by reading this post you will be convinced enough to move here.

What is there to love about Victoria? For me personally it’s all about the outdoor activities.

Lots Of Outdoor Activities

This place has everything you could need despite being on an island. Lots of people get freaked out about living on an island. But not me. The fact that this is a very big island helps ease the closterphobic feeling.  This big island has lots of amazing outdoor activities you can partake in.

There are a lot of places you can go hike like Mount Finlayson and Mount Douglas. If running is your thing there are plenty of nice jobbing trails with chips, which help to ease the pain in your joints. Maybe you’re not a runner and just like to go for a walk. Lots of people find walking around the breakwater a great place to people watch and see some beautiful scenery.

If you’re more of a water sports person you can go surfing out in Jordan River, which is about an hour and half from downtown. Sombreo beach, which is close to Jordan River, is another great surf spot.

It should be noted that there are a lot of great lakes just outside of Victoria. This is of course if you don’t want to swim, waterski or cruise around in the Pacific Ocean, which surrounds the city of Victoria.

The Ocean would be the best place to take a kayak or canoe trip. The water never really gets to rough and you can take some amazing trips. Most people take day trips over to one of the many Gulf Islands that surround Victoria.

One other thing I should mention is the golf. Sure it’s not an extreme outdoor sport but it still is and outdoor sport. The city has 15 public golf courses you can play. I use to be a Golf Professional and felt this city offers some great value.

So there you have it. Victoria, BC, Canada is a great place to move to if you’re seeking outdoor adventure. And if you ever need a real estate agent, check out my website and I’d love to help.
